Apple Pie Thyme

Now that the holidays are almost here I think it's Apple Pie Thyme! This bourbon based cocktail tastes like an apple pie for grown-ups.
Apple Pie Thyme

The basic ratio for this drink is 1 part cider to 1 part bourbon – you can easily adjust it depending on how strong you like your cocktails. You can make a single serving or a large batch for a party, so I won’t be giving you exact amounts.

  1. In a saucepan heat your apple cider with a few sprigs of thyme and some cinnamon sticks. You don’t need to heat this too long, about 1-2 minutes should do the trick.
  2. Allow the cider mixture to cool. You can infuse your cider a few days ahead and refrigerate it.
  3. Mix equal parts cider and bourbon.
  4. Serve over ice, I find that the ice really helps the flavor along and it’s an easy way for your guests to adjust the strength of their beverage.
  5. Garnish with thyme and/ or cinnamon sticks!
