Hot Chocolate Kit
For the Mexican hot chocolate: Whisk together the cocoa powder, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, cayenne pepper and chili powder in a bowl. Make sure all your ingredients are combined so every spoonful has a bit of spice.
For the peppermint hot chocolate: Layer cocoa powder followed by the chocolate chips, sugar, salt and peppermints in a jar. You can also mix them, but I think the layers look festive.
To turn your hot cocoa mix into a gift:
- Spoon the hot cocoa mix into a jar.
- Label each mix with directions; Combine 1/4 cup of this mix with 1 1/2 cups of hot milk or hot water, add marshmallow and Enjoy!
- Add homemade marshmallows either into the jar or in a separate container.
- Use a ribbon to secure the jar or jars and add any last minute touches like measuring spoons or candy canes.
