Red Pepper Hummus

Hummus has become a really common snack food. You can find it at every deli and supermarket but it’s just as easy - and way more tasty to make it yourself. It’s best to make it in a food processor, but you can use a blender or immersion blender, just be careful not to over blend and turn it into soup!

Spiced Red Pepper Hummus

This is one of my favorite recipes, the red pepper and the harissa give it great flavor and color. Harissa is delicious and can be found in supermarkets or specialty food stores. Start by using a little to see how much you like it.

  1. In a food processor blend the tahini and lemon juice, until just combined.
  2. Add in all the other ingredients except for the chickpeas, and pulse a few seconds.
  3. Add the chickpeas and blend until smooth. If the hummus seems a bit thick add a little water, 1 teaspoon at a time to thin it.

Serve with veggies, bread, crackers and dip!
