This popcorn has a bit of kick but the honey mellows it out. Make it for the Oscar's or enjoy it as a snack!
I’m sort of a wimp when it comes to spicy foods, so adding the honey to this recipe creates the perfect balance for me. If you like things on the spicier side feel free to add more Sriracha.
- In a medium pan, heat the coconut oil, honey, and brown sugar.
- In a large heavy lidded pot, pop your popcorn by combining 2 tablespoons of oil and the kernels on a medium high heat. After a minute or so, give the pot a shake while keeping the lid on to circulate the kernels so they pop evenly. If you would prefer to use microwaveable popcorn pop it and pour into a large mixing bowl.
- When the coconut oil and sugars start to bubble, add in the salt, baking soda and vanilla. Whisk well to combine and then add the Sriracha.
- Pour the warm sauce over the popcorn and toss it together so all of the kernels are well coated.
